Page 1 of Copying CDs while surfing the Net?
General Forum
I know i could find this out myself by trying it, but dont want to waste anymore CDRs than i have been lately but ...can anyone tell me will surfing the internet or using my PC for something else interfere with the CDRW drive when copying.
I have a new PC...P4 1600mhz with 256ram and 40 hd, on my previous PC i had to make sure nothing was running in the background or i would get errors....appreciate the help...Cheers!
Well I have IRC and Netscape running while I burn a CD on the fly with a 6X scsi writer. But then I am using Linux on a dual p3 :-)
Are you using XP? It is based on Win2000 and should be stable enough to handle it. And Dabs do 25 CD-R for about £11 which I have found perfectly good with no errors so far. Can probably find Cds cheaper if you shop around.
If your writer has something like Burnproof or similar (most modern drives do, to prevent buffer under-runs) then you`ll be fine, mate.
Yes its windows XP i am using.....i think my error problems may be because i have 3 software programs installed to burn CDs...thanks for the answers.

Just make sure you have no screen savers of virus checkers running as these can cause problems.
RE: Copying CDs while surfing the Net?
You say you have errors because you have 3 programs installed
I have found that Nero conflicts badly with Easy CD Creator, best to get rid of one if you have them both.
I use Easy CD Creator and CloneCD mainly so dont bother installing anything else

Yes, I would agree with the above..... as I used CD Creator, and installed Nero as well, BIG MISTAKE!! It just made a complete mess of everything I tried to copy. Best to stick to the program you want and get rid of everything else.
