Help finding Win 10 License

enemyonpc (Elite) posted this on Saturday, 23rd December 2017, 00:52

I have all the parts for the boys gaming PC but I forgot about buying the OS. Does anyone know of any deals on Win 10 and ideally how much I'm looking at. Amazon prices seem to be upwards of £80 and looking on eBay I can get a code as cheap as £10 but they sound rather dubious.

Thanks

on hotukdeals those deals on ebay often get posted, followed by a debate on legality, how likely they are to work, and for how long etc, you spin the wheel and take your chances with them!

I'm not sure if it's still the case, but in the "good old days", certain shops (Scan springs to mind, maybe Novatech and eBuyer as well, overclockers maybe?) would let you get an OEM license, aimed at pc builders, with any hardware, so rather having to get the mobo, hdd, memory etc, you could just buy a £5 mouse and OEM license for a lot less than retail.

The other option is user WIndows Insider, and get it for free.

now, this does mean you are getting early preview releases, you can't turn off the Windows 10 spyware, but the most part I've had few problems with it, but for gaming it may be a different story, I just use that PC for light internet usage.

Do you have a spare WIn 7/8 licence? If so, you can still get 10 for free via the assistive technology route (but that expires at the end of the year).
