Best and worst thing that happened to you in 2014
Both of mine are dog related (yes I will get around to posting something to the puppy thread!)...
Worst thing, Minna being nearly killed by two Irish Staffs 5 days after moving to the Isle of Wight.
Best thing is a bit of a two way tie, Minna surviving and making a full recovery despite being 16 years old. And getting a new puppy that is such a sweetie (whilst still being a totally mad puppy at times) within a fortnight of making the decision to get one.

Losing mother in law in November. THO got there in time to have 2-3 days with her.
Losing job not getting another for 8 months. Not happy with the new one but needs must.
My outlook on life is positive & carefree, I'm positive that I'm a pessimist & I don't care what what you think.
Never has so little had to be explained by me to so many so often.

lows: (not at all bad when you consider the plight of others) -
new neighbours moved in at the tail end of last year. had a dog and then got another which would bark 24/7. quick report to to the necessary authorities
and everything is now fairly peaceful, although we now don't speak.
highs:
got my band back together after almost 20 years. much fun :)
went to orlando & clearwater fulfilling a life long dream of visiting (some part)
of the states :)
got a promotion at work :)
also got a new puppy to accompany our pooch Ben who had seemed a bit
down after losing Bruce.

Lows:
Having to disband my team and disperse them on compulsory transfer after being together for over 8 years, and some of them working in the same place for over a decade
Not passing promotion board by a whisker
Highs:
Partner's daughter getting a scholarship at Durham University (and also getting an interview at Cambridge).

Worst was having a health scare that made me realise I'm not immortal or anything close (pretty much got the all clear now).
Best is having oldest daughter become a teacher and loving it. And younger one at Cardiff University - and loving it.
There were some pretty cool releases this year but I guess they don't count!

On the positive side, the birth of my first child.
On the negative, there have been a few things, mostly of my own doing...
