Is the Wharfedale any good at playing audi CDs?
I would like to buy a Wharfedale 750 and use it to play audio cds as well as dvds. Is this a good idea? Does anyone have any experiences in this?

Simply put, YES. The Wharfedale was reviewed by What HiFi? in February (I think) and given five-stars rating, for audio reproduction as well as for DVD-Video.
I have a Wharfedale but it isn`t hooked up yet so I can`t tell you for sure but I reckon you can probably trust What HiFi?`s opinion.

I wouldn`t trust anyones opinion after all. will you be using the same reference speakers, amp etc. listen to it first if possible then make up your own mind.

I find the Wharfedale to be very good for Audio CD`s. Easily on par with my seperate CD deck. I would recommend it to anyone.

Well I dont think so,I think my computer can play audio cds better.

Now that I`ve gotten in hooked up, I`ve found it to be the equal of a good budget CD player such as a Technics or NAD.
It sounds good to me on mine - equal in CD playback to my other player (Pioneer 717).

The Newer model is now available, it uses a Zoran chip set now and is said to fix all the bugs, quieter playback and official DTS support.
The Model number is not the 750s
If you see a player without the "s" then it is likely to be the older model
