Is there a website to see property sales for free?

Bezzawezza (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 20th August 2009, 06:52

I seem to remember there being a site that you could put your postcode in and see what price houses had actually sold for in that area for the last however many years. Does anyone know what it was? I can`t find it and the ones I can find all want cash for the priviledge.

Just google "Sold property prices" and gives loads of free options.

Nethouseprices.com

Find-a-property

BTW- I`m not saying that in a twatty, why don`t you just search on google, I`m just saying what you need to search for as I needed it the other year and couldn`t find the right "search" to get them up.

Also it`s not Zoopla`s valuation thing your thinking of?

That one bases it on sale prices and other information and gives you a very rough estimate of what the property would be worth. I remember someone on here, was using it and wasn`t happy with the results as the value had only gone up about £10k.

I get regular emails from ourproperty.co.uk
Tells me of properties sold within a certain distance of my postcode.
Actual prices paid as recorded on the land registry, not guesstimations.
I think the default is 500m, but I set it to 5 miles (I think).

Cheers guys. Zoopla was the one I was thinking of but couldn`t remember but one of those should sort me out.
Nice one

That Zoopla site is bollocks. Our house is valued between 10 and 20 thousand quid less than two neighbouring houses, even though ours has a much larger garden. Very odd.

Yup, Zoopla is evidently bollocks.
According to them my house last sold for £180K in Feb 2005.
Both completely wrong.
Not even close. :/

Again, that nethouseprices is wrong.
Exactly same info as on that bollocks Zoopla site.
Completely wrong price and date for the last transaction on my house.
