Weird telephone number, what is it ?
My wife got her car stoved in at her local carpark today, someone left a telephone number that actually rings out, but no one answers.
My wife will lose her £200 excess if we cannot find out if this is a witness or the crashee.
Here is the 13 numbers with the last four digits replaced with asterixs (so you dont phone it).
it seems very long, too long for a mobile number??, any ideas or is it just a case of the person looking good by putting a bit of paper on the windscreen.
Then why bother with a number that actually rings out ?

I tried the UK Phone Information website and this was what I got.

RE: Weird telephone number, what is it ?
I never though of international code, DOH !
OK, many thanks for that, I have checked with my wifes insurance and it seems that as she was in inner london at the tourist areas, we think an austrailian tourist has hit her car with a UK hired car, assuming the telephone number is genuine.
So the insurance legal department is going to chase it up, by phoning that number for the next month off and on, until either the tourists are back home, or there is someone at their home that can give a number to get in touch with them.
Hopefully they can claim against the hire car insuranace and save my wife the excess costs.

Dunno if this is technically possible but could it be an Aussie *mobile* number and it was a tourist who hit the car?
Is so weird to give a working (ish) number if not genuine when they could`ve just put anything (unless it is someone not genuine and it`s just coincidence that the number rings).
Edit: great minds and all that. :D

looking at my aussie cousin`s mob number they are the same (prefix) so i guess that is what they have left you, does it give you the option to leave a voicemail?
