Page 1 of Recording DVD onto VHS

I`m new to DVD and would like to know how I go about copying onto VHS.

Do I need a special lead to connect between the DVD player and video?

Also, I know that I have to disable Macrovision, too but seing as nobody has found the hack yet for the player I have (Schneider 855) so I suppose I`ll have to wait to copy to VHS (once I know how that is!).

There is a scart lead that disables macro, its around £30 I`ll hunt around and post back latter M8..

I`m also interested in copying to VHS and have got a Samsung 511. Does the multi-region hack (which I haven`t done yet) also disable Macrovision at the same time or is it a separate operation? And, naive question time, is there any possibility of damaging your machine when disabling macrovision (or hacking for that matter)?
