Page 1 of Best Music sequence?
General Forum
The title sequence thread got me thinking. Most musical scenes happen during the title but far from all.
What is your favourite scene with accompanying music?
On my mind at the mo is the Goodfellas scene where the camera pans round the big car with white leather seats and two dead bodies whose blood is all over the aforementioned seats. All to the slow part of `Layla`. Quite magical.
Opinions? Alternatives?
RE: Best Music sequence?
Star Wars Episode 1 - DarthMaul vs Qui gon & Obi Wan with Duel of the fates further adding to the arousal.
Titanic - when it snaps in 2 then finally sinks.
Gladiator - The huge opening battle.
(Not on DVD yet - Lord of the Rings - Gandalf standing off against Balrog)
There`s plenty more where they came from but some of the most memorable for me :)
Cue Wagner and a shed load of helicoptors....
Tuco searching for the grave with the gold in, near the end of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, ah hell, throw in the climactic gunfight as well.
Beat me to this one JC. The gunfight with the watches in A Few Dollars More is pretty good too.
Heat - the heist scene : that plonky-plonky soundtrack is sooo cool !!!
(Perhaps a bit obvious this one, but it`s all I can think of)
How about the lobby shoot-out from The Matrix? When the Propellorheads (Spybreak) kick in and Neo + Trinity start running around going ape, it really does get your heart running. It sounds fantastic in DD5.1 aswell, as the bass from the song seems to totally come through the sub. It`s the perfect song for that scene.
Aye.
Yup, totally agree, Blazin`
Similarly the "Clubbed to Death" scene, although only short (ewalking thru the crowded street) is tres cool in Matrix too.
Another cool un is the bloodbath disco in "Blade" backed by the Pump Panel remix of "Confusion" by New Order - bangin`....
Technically not a "music sequence" but....
U2 Live in Boston - The Fly and Where The Streets Have No Name, both are absolutely AMAZING on DD5.1!!
