Companies that have p**sed me off so much that I will never use them again and I hope you dont either....
Jacks Fish & Chips of Cambridge ridiculously overpriced and overpackaged chips. £1.20 for a stupidly small portion of chips - they need to go up north for a good lesson in fish and chips
Alloy Bodies of Manchester - The Grand Daddy & Benchmark for shockingly poor customer service.
Capital Bank Leasing who are part of [B]BOS & are f**ing useless & struggle to action the smallest request but are fantastically efficient at taking money out of my account
[B]Abbey National Absolutely diabolical service - how hard is it to change £60 of coins into notes????
....more coming soon no doubt.....
I don`t know an awful lot about skiing up here, I`m afraid.
I tried it once, but I didn`t like it.
I am familiar with the areas around Aberdeen though, those being Glenshee and The Lecht.
Try these websites

With regard to accommodation, the nearest places are the likes of Braemar and Ballater.
Both on royal deeside, near Balmoral and Billy Connolly`s place. :/
Neither offer much in the way of evening entertainment though.
You could, quite feasibly, stay in Aberdeen and commute to the skiing.
Would take about an hour, each way.
Aviemore might be a better bet for you though, you would just turn off at Perth and take the A9.
Or you could turn off at Glasgow and take the picturesque road through Glencoe.

Aviemore has `enough` to do at night, I would imagine.
Hope this helps.

RE: Skiiing in Scotland - bowfer?
The nearest hotel to the Glenshee slopes is The Spittal of Glenshee. I know - I used to work there! Very friendly atmosphere. About a mile further up the estate is the Dalmunzie House Hotel (which is a lot posher!).

Glenshee, I believe, is the largest skiing area in Scotland. Or has more lifts. Or something...

Neil - will be interested to find out how much a weekend works out as...since I was planning a weekend in Europe soon. Might be a nice alternative.
I have a week booked in Les Arcs the first week in Feb, but I always come back feeling like I want to do it again, so figured a weekend would be good. Trying to plan ahead!

Oh...go on then.... ;)
A week in Europe in a catered Chalet for £199, I bet Scotland is dearer than that.
A weekend in Europe laways costs me a lot more. Going out to St Anton on the 26th for 4 nights, doubt I`ll see much change out of £600.
