Is it worth getting, and also would I have to pay £150 installation even though I already have virgin cable installed?

Is there a specific Virgin offer you`re looking at cos I didn`t think it cost that much! I thought you just had to buy the TV Drive box as there is not much HD on Virgin yet.
Nick
I`m not so much bothered about the HD channels, I just want to be able to record programmes etc like I could do with Sky.

You have to buy the box, then as long as you`re on XL you don`t pay subscription for the service. No idea how much it is if you don`t take XL, maybe £10 a month, something like that, so it might be better value to up your package depending how much you pay currently.

How long have you been with them? Tell them you`re not prepared to pay that amount and would rather leave and get a Sky+ box for £50-£99 on a deal...

So Virgin now make you buy the box too? I thought it remained their box as it was on subscription?
Nick
Sky made Sky+ subscription-free, so Virgin followed suit. I don`t know what the situation is with repairs now though.
I`m considering V+ again - we just got changed to a silver Samsung box after problems with TVOD (apparently the Samsung is better with dodgy signals and frequencies than Pace and whichever one was had just before now, but if we have issues again we need a re-pull from the street), it`s been perfect so far so if we could have a Samsung V+ box I`d be very tempted. But not at £150!

The virginmedia V+ boxes are Scientific Atlanta and I`m sure they are all black.
Pete :(
I believe Virgin retain ownership of the box and are liable for all repairs etc. The £150 or whatever is for the "install".
