I have a Bush 2000 and Sony STRB930 AV Amp
There are coaxial connections, optical connections and 5.1 phono connections. I have these connections on both amp and DVD.
At the moment I have an optical coonection via a fibre cable. The question is what should I use to give the best connection.
RE: Connecting up my system
There are two schools of thought - some say fibre optic is best as there is no electrical connection between the units, thus reducing the likelyhood of `hum`. Some say that coax is best as it is a dedicated electrical connection with no `conversion` taking place that is necessary for fibe optic.

Someone once told me (they worked in a HiFi shop so I won`t mention who or where) that because of the wavelength of the light used to transmit down the fibre that it had to be at least 30 meters long in order for it to match correctly - I`m guessing that that`s untrue but if it is true then I am willing to stand corrected.
(if he was making it up I will be forced however to revisit the shop and get him to stand in the corner with a tall pointy `D` (Dunce) hat on)
Anyone know for sure ?
P.s. if anyone can explain then please do
Ive tried both optical and coax, both sound the same to me. Answer is "whichever is easiest" would probably be most applicable.

If it helps Richer sounds were adamant that coax was the best solution.
