Kate McCann to be named a suspect.

Now this does have different meanings in Portugal but it is a new direction for them.

Now I`m not saying I believe she or her husband did it, but I`m still of the opinion that you have to be extremely naive and foolish to believe that your children are safe left alone absolutely anywhere, let alone in a foreign country, where there are masses of people around that you don`t know. Check on them as many times as you like, if someone`s determined it`ll only take a minute. Lets hope that this is just a formality so they can ask her the 22 questions they can only ask suspects, but if this was the case, surely it would have been explained to her, and she wouldn`t be so shocked by the news? I hope she and her husband aren`t in any way responsible, I imagine there will be people across the world very angry at what could then only be described as a `media circus`, should this be the case.

When those two little step-sisters were kidnapped at a street party in Belgium a couple of years ago, a newspaper got a letter detailing where the bodies were. During the search for Madeleine a newspaper received a "similar" letter which was very specific about where Madeleine`s body was. Obviously it was a hoax, *but*....

If Madeleine had been your child, where would you have been while the police were digging for her body?

Where were Kate and Gerry McCann? Watching the police dig? Tearing their hair out at their apartment or at the police station? Nah... they went to collect some of their mates from the airport!

It`s funny though, last night the BBC reporter was making sure it was known that Arguido status is a positive thing because it means she can have a lawyer in with her and the right to silence... but when that Portuguese-British man *asked* to be an Arguido he is automatically an evil almost-foreign paedo who had a "touch of the Huntley`s" about him.

I find them very hard to judge. They come across as very honest, and genuinely worried about their daughter. Some elements of the way they`ve conducted themselves are certainly questionable though.
I`ve just read on Sky news that the police are now examining the car they hired 5 weeks after she disappeared. My feeling is that they certainly wouldn`t be doing this if she weren`t a genuine suspect. If it was just a formality, surely there would be no need. Sorry to speculate, but what are other peoples views on this?

On another note, there`s a spider crawling across the top of my screen.

No reason to have the blood of the girl in a car hired five weeks after she disapeared, getting interesting. It also shows that they are now actively looking into the McCanns as suspects and not as just witnesses.

This worried me when I first heard it. What sort of parent leaves there child in the house asleep and then goes out? I wont leave my kids on there own in a room let alone a house (one is just coming up to his third birthday).
And if they hadn`t been doctors and more "working class" and left thier kids alone those two parents would have been vilified in the papers in the days after Madeline went missing.

I agree. One of you children is missing - so you both go off to see the pope without your remaining child. If I was in their place (god forbid) I would not let go of the second child for the next few months let alone jet off to another country.

You would think as doctors, they would be slightly more intelligent than to leave their children as they did.

Something else I`ve always been curious about - why was Kate McCann allowed to keep hold of Madeleine`s `Cuddle Cat` toy? This was apparently moved by the offender, as it was found in a place where the girl would not have been allowed to reach. I appreciate that it would most likely be impossible to retrieve `touch DNA` from an item such as this, however it was part of a major crime scene, and therefore should not have been removed. It should have undergone every test available.

Kate McCann is apparently concerned that she will today be charged over the death of her daughter. If she or her husband is charged, I personally will feel quite cheated - for months they would have led us to believe that she was abducted by an unknown, and I, like many others, have followed their story quite closely, and felt a lot of compassion for them, as any parent would.

What would then happen to the `Find Madeleine` fund, which has had more than £1m paid into it by well-wishers across the globe?

I see some people have made their minds up already. Innocent until proven guilty.

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...

And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...

My mind isn`t made up at all. I`m merely speculating. I sincerely hope that she and her husband are not charged, as I don`t believe that they did it, as I have indicated in my previous posts. I`ve just got questions relating to the current direction of the investigation, and am curious to hear other`s thoughts.
