just jack your job in? I really feel like walking into my boss and handing in my notice. I don`t have another job to go to and know that I can`t as I have a family to support but reckon it`s a slightly less drastic step than others I could take (don`t want to get too dramatic :D ).
Just wondered if anyone else ever felt like this.

RE: Do you ever get the urge to......
Every damn day... and that`s why I`ve just spent most of the morning using what`s left of my brain trying to come up with and answer movie quotes in the thread below when I should be working on a large job due for delivery by e.o.d.
I also got a score of 42 million on Windows 3D pinball this morning... it`s been a pretty productive day so far ;)
The problem is that I`ve got into a couple of rows with my boss over the last couple of months (nothing too serious) but on both occasions was a whisker away from saying `oh p*** off`. I`ve never felt like this before.

I have contemplated bringing my DS to work and spending the whole day on the dunny.

Well if you`ve got a wife and kids (as I do) you just take a deep breath, suck it in and remember why you are there... money.

It`s just that I am really starting to find it difficult to ignore the negative comments etc. and it is really starting to affect things at home (I can be a grumpy barsteward at the best of times).
Anyway I`m off on holiday next week and will try and formulate a career plan so at least I can look at re-training during the evenings to get me somewhere.

Every day
After working 17 years in the civil service I could have taken a £50k redundancy package but it wasn`t enough to pay off the mortgage
RE: Do you ever get the urge to......
At the moment yes.
I was doing trading application support until 6 months ago and I loved it (did it for 6 years).
I moved into the development realm and have to admit its not all I thought it might be.
Really don`t want to move back into the support role (due to other issues there)...but moving firms means a probably £15k salary drop! Something I`m wise to avoid I think!!
So in the meantime I just sit here and either watch Sky news all day on my USB freeview box, or find stuff on the net....oh and occasionally write a bit of code!
If it wasn`t decent money I would have quit a while back.

Man and I thought I was special. Seems we could all do with a change. Is anyone happy in their job? I just hope my company don`t block reviewer or Eurosport on my pc.
