Page 1 of How do i go about creating a website with forums/messageboards?

One of my friends has asked me to try and find some info on how to create a website.

I know a little bit about HTML coding but one thing that he has asked specifically for is the option to have a forum on the site.

I did tell him about the "MSNgroups" pages which can easily have messageboards incorporated into them (I`m a member of an XBox clan with an MSNgroup), but he wants to register a particular domain and doesn`t want the MSN logos all over the place.

before I start hunting around the net, I thought I`d get some other people advice as someone on here is bound to know some details on site design, hosting, and forum creation tools.

I`ve always used SMF forums, I find them pretty easy to install.

If you`re looking to actually integrate the website and the forum, you can use something like tiny portal with SMF. I`ve never used it properly, though I did install it to play with once and it seemed good.
