i always thought it was:-

Your name

Your Card Number

Your 3 Digit security code


But it is actually:-

Anyones name

Your Card Number

Your 3 Digit security code

But now i find that as long as the Card Number and 3 Digit Security Code are correct, any name can be used.

That against the banking security code if you have had a transaction like that complain to your bank and the company that acceptted the payment.

If you are browsing with Firefox, download an extension called "keyscrambler" as this prevents keyloggers from seeing any passwords and personal details as you enter/send them online. ;)

Strictly speaking, when processing a `card holder not present` payment, (a payment over the phone or mail order), the cardholder`s name isn`t needed because you don`t enter that into the machine.

Depending on the type of card (not all details are necessary) you usually need:

card number
start date
expiry date
issue number
security numbers
cardholder`s address (with postcode and house number if available)
