He wants to rob you. He wants you to post the item to Nigeria and he will "send the money" via Paypal, you`ll get an email (if you proceeed, don`t!) saying funds will be released when you send a tracking number. You send it off, get a tracking number, and email him. The money never arrives and you`re down a phone and the cost of shipping.

No. You need to report him as a Non-Paying Bidder (since he won`t be paying!). Give him negative feedback and ignore him.

As long as that isn`t a scammer too! :D

XFG`s bang on, chalk this one up to experience, claim your costs back (or send second chance offer to next bidder down) & report him as a NPB, make sure you say he`s a scammer in the info you send to ebay, also, if you get ANY emails saying you got money etc, absolutely do not log on via a link from them, i know most folks know better, but it`s easy to be fooled when your expecting an email about said item, allways log on via your normal link (ie, from your favourites folder etc) if you think you might have replied directly from an email, then change your ebay/paypal passwords imediately, just make sure your definately on the genuine ebay/paypal websites.

a bit of advice on general listings. go into your settings & make the following selections.

auctions only available to registered users within the UK
users with more than 2 negative feedbacks barred from bidding
users with X NPB filed against them barred from bidding.

it`s been ages since i looked at these settings so the wording is gonna be different, but you`ll see what i mean when your in there. also put a disclaimer in every auction stating you absolutely will not post outside the UK etc etc.

it won`t stop people trying it on, but if you look & act clued up to the scams they generally leave you alone, it`s not worth there while if they know you won`t be conned.

hope this helps. & even with this s***, ebays still a great marketplace.. & there are far more good than bad on there...

I would shy clear of anything on e bay that has the word Nigeria. Seems to be the scam capital of the world. Or any buyer / seller that mentions it.

Yes, this is 100% a Scam aimed at conning you out of the phone without paying. Don`t fall for it and don`t click on any links from any emails regarding the whole auction, as any of them could be phishing emails aimed at getting your account details.

Sooner you report the b*****d to eBay, sooner they can throw him off!

The reason he has mailed you is to get your email adress so he can send you the fake paypal advice of payment.BTW Did he register on the day to bid for your phone? That is the normal pattern of the scammers.
