Garmin Streetpilot 3, voice/speaker problem.

I bought one of these at a car boot sale for £100. I know i was silly, but i saw it working and therefore didnt question anything else. I have the cd and have tried various ways of downloading the voices............but despite the speaker working fine (ive tested that) it has never given me a single voice command. If its the main Gps box thats broken, has anyone any idea where i might get something like this fixed, reasonably cheaply or better still, any way i could fix it myself ?

Try a hard reset first, press and hold middle scroll button first then power up if that doesn`t work try updating the firmware. All the info is on the Garmin website!

Hi Richard I had one of these for 3 months, then the voices went off no spoken directions at all were given.Updates from Garmin website made no difference and told to return unit as faulty for full refund.Sorry not much use to you I know as carboot sellers very rarely give a refund.Try Contacting Garmin customer support.

Without asking the obvious, OK then I will, have you turned up the volume in settings?
