Page 1 of Anyone had their phonecall hacked by someone whilst on mobile?

Hi All,

A strange one!! I was on my Orange mobile speaking to someone on another mobile and at 1010 this morning, the call was still active and went silent for a second. There was then another male voice, who appeared to be having a conversation reference a scanner and hacking. It went on for about a minute and ended the call.

I rang the friend back and he indicated he couldn`t hear anything and the phone had gone silent.

I know that the digital lines are supposed to be secure and when I spoke to Orange they indicated they have never heard of anything like this before.

I know there are expensive scanners that can listen to people, but not as far as I am aware that can take over a call.

Anyone had this experience before or is it just some freak occurence.

ive had a similar thing - but not with mobiles.
im driving in car car listening to the radio, and a police car goes past. i can hear their radio conversation for a few seconds as in interupts my radio.
not the same really is it. mobiles use diff radio frequencies. much higher in wavelengh.
maybe u had [digitally] crossed lines?? - or r u involved in something which would need people to spy on u - ala spooks.
ur phone couldn`t have been cloned - someone trying to make a call at the same time as u?

That happens with walkmans and MP3 players. Scared the s*** out of me the first few times it happened.

I`ve had a phone call once off my mate and some bird was talking to me going who`s that, I thought it was his missus taking the p***, so I was humouring her and asking her to put my mate on the phone in the end I hung up because I couldn`t be arsed with her taking the p***.

Then my mate rang me back and asked if that was me on the phone because it didn`t sound like me, I said yeah was that your missus or something because I assumed he`d had me on loudspeaker, but he said he was speaking to some lad who was asking who that was.

We were on the motorway so I`m assuming the lines must have got crossed, but my mates number had displayed on my phone. I think the girl may have had some explaining to do to her boyfriend though because my mates got a short temper so was probably giving the guy some grief so that lad will think that there was some lad with his missus f***ing about :o

I started getting calls from random people asking me why i left a missed call on thier number. I kept getting these calls from all sorts of people and at wierd times like early morning or while im at work. Im pretty sure that i did not dial any numbers out and everytime i got these calls i checked my dialled number but couldnt find any trace. Called up O2 cust services but they couldnt help me out. Any one who could shed any light on this?

I`ve heard about phones with bluetooth being hacked. Evidently, they look for people with Borg implants (bluetooth headsets ;) ) and then try to hack the phone and use it to make phone calls.
Try using your phone to search for other bluetooth phones in a public area, it`s quite amazing how many people have their bluetooth turned on and left discoverable. When some of my rellies have had a problem with their mobiles and asked me to have a look, I`ve been amazed to find the bluetooth left on and not known anything about it ( both that it was on, and that their phone had it!).
Maybe this has something to do with some of the problems experienced? :/

I never switch on bluetooth on my phone. I know what you are talking about. one of my mates had this project in uni with regards to bluetooth. He had a software with which he could access anyones phone if their bluetooth was switched on. When i say access i mean you can send or recieve files from the phone without the user knowing it.
But i suspect my problem is different. I asked for a replacement SIM but even that did not help.
