Are the clocks going back this year in the uk?

Sminty (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 12th October 2006, 21:19

Hey, I keep getting told by different people that the clocks aren't changing this winter but haven't heard anything on T.V or radio. Anyone know if they are definitely changing this year?

True but I was starting to look forward to lighter evenings, I don`t think we should put the clocks back - it just seems like a waste of time to me :/ .

I love the cold, dark nights. All the noisy kids are indoors early and I can have a ciggie at the back door without daddy-long-legs flying up my nose.

Bliss. :)

The US are actually shortening their DST period by putting it back a month to November (rather than October) next year...which they think will save them some ridiculous amount of money in energy bills (that 1 hour of extra daylight apparently makes a difference).

Whether Europe will consider doing the same I don`t know...but it makes sense in this energy conservation era.

I dont think we should change it at all. The war was over 50 years ago, so there doesnt seem much point now.

And, like I always say, my mrs seems to always work the weekend that it changes so is either an hour early or an hour late to work every time it happens.

Its just annoying, to be honest. No need for it now.
