DVD Region X for PS2
Hi Guys,
Any ideas on this one or a web site you know of that could help. My son has a Play Station 2 and has brought DVD RegionX from Datel to convert it to multi region. It sounds simple & the instructions are if he can get past the first stage where the PS2 boots up and says Not Licenced to Sony Europe.
Any ideas or similar problems experienced elsewhere?
Any help appreciated.

Phil, do the following:
Insert the dongle (memory card lookalike) into port 1 or 2. Make sure it`s properly in.
Reset/turn on your PS2 with the Region X disc inserted.
That screen you mentioned will come up, followed by a screen with 6 boxes (one for each region).
Select the region of the disc you want to watch (i.e if it`s a region 1 movie, select box 1), and press the X button.
The PS2 will eject the Region X disc, so now insert the movie, wait a bit, and it will load.
And that`s all you have to do!

Whoops, forgot to add this wee bit at the end:
The screen will return to the memory card/CD screen, so just click on the CD for the movie to run.

Turns out the software no longer comes with the dongle so you have to buy a Memory Card (we knew this) but my son hadn`t formatted the b@$£y! Memory Card he brought & this was the main cause of the problem!
Long and short of this is DVD RegionX worked but you need to supply your own Memory Card (don`t forget to format!) and you will need the codes & instructions from Datel web site.
Thanks again for your help & prompt advice
