Car insurance question

rvshah (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 24th August 2006, 21:12

Hello everyone,

Just asking if anybody has any good companies in mind I am looking to insure a 2.0tdi seat leon worth bout £16000. I need it for SDCP in some cases business class 1 as I need to travel to lots of different clients. I have looked on confused and insuresupermarket just after any companies they miss.

Also does anyone know much about the bonus accelerator scheme to get NCB faster as I have none and want some :)

Thanks in advance.

Rav

Since turning 25 Direct Line have included Business use and 3rd party cover in other people`s cars as standard. They`ve always given me quotes as I have good NCD and a clean licence - they generally only want the easy business however so if you have any points or accidents you may want to look elsewhere. Every insurer tends to favour a particular group, it really is a case of trying every single one every year. A pain I know but well worth it!

Elephant run a bonus accelerator scheme.
You basically take out a 10 month policy with them.
Every time you renew, they treat it is 12 months no claims.
So it would only take you 20 months to run up 24 months no claims etc.
My brother was on it.
He found it quite useful.
Think he kept it on for two or three years, then phoned around other companies once he`d built up his NCB.

BTW,hope you have more good fortune with your 2.0tdi Leon than I have with my 2.0tdi Audi A3 sportback.
Unreliable,badly built piece of crap...
Latest thing is it takes ages to start, then plumes of white smoke drift down the street.
It`s only 19 months old and 18000 miles.
