So the Welshies and the Oirish get a pass, huh?

For what it`s worth, I find a really dirty Glaswegian accent is like nails on a blackboard.

Sminty - he is right- Scottish accents are varied. I can understand edinburgh accents pretty well but glaswegian english is over my head. You shouldve created more options there.

On the other hand Bowfer - maybe she`s never ventured out of that place (liverloop is it...) where she lives, so has no idea how big the highlands are, and how many different accents there are!!! :P

Well, Wales has at least 5 I`m familiar with :-)...not sure which one I come up with when I`ve been drinking though. Used to be natural...honest, mun.

The English are like the yanks in that respect. There is, in our heads, one generic scottish accents, much like for americans there is one generic English accent (which is lucky for Anthony LaPaglia).

FWIW, I find `Wigger` the most annoying accent. Although you could argue that is a dialect.......

I was going to say something similar, too, but I didn`t want to pick apart her whole poll.

I would have nominated the Fraserburgh brogue, but seeing as Sminty probably thinks everyone in Scotland sounds like Lorraine Kelly... ;)

I think all the varied British accent can be lovely, but only if the voices are tinged by them.

It`s when they`re really thick, dirty, coal-miner accents that some become horrible...

It`s gotta be Manc - can`t stand the accent or the place - sprawling sh*thole!

For the record, I quite like the scouse accent :-)

probably swings the `hate-o-meter` in their direction.
Makes me shudder thinking about it.

MIND YOU,broad Liverpudlian can turn into some sort of mumbled mess,almost song-like in it`s changes of whining pitch.
Take that bloke off Big Brother just now.
I haven`t a bloody clue what he`s whining.
It`s just a mumbled,whiny,up and down AAAARGH.... >:(
