For £10 you can get a R4 copy from Ezy, a legit copy I might add. Getting a fake done no body good, you won`t enjoy the film and the industry gets ripped off (So do you). I would pay that extra 2 quid for a legit copy everytime.

It`d be against the forum rules for me to tell you where to buy them.
In my honest opinion though they really aren`t worth bothering with. A friend of mine gets them from time to time and they are often just vhs captures or worse. Colours are wrong, contrast is bad, everything is washed out, encoding is sometimes blocky, motion is jerky, sound is always stated as 5.1 but rarely truly is. They are some that are good quality but they are definately in the minority. I`d rather buy one official dvd than 2 or 3 silvers leaving the legal issues aside. If you can`t afford official dvd then I`d say stick to vhs cos the quality of silvers is rarely better and could be a lot worse.

Well said Fruitybones.

And Raymond`s right - if you want cheap DVDs ship them in from Australia - http://www.ezydvd.com.au

We`ll have no more funny business on this thread now - as Fruitybones says - it`s totally against Forum Rules.

Tut tut...

Have a look around your own town for secondhand pukka DVDs, are there markets or anything? I got a perfectly good version of "Storm" yesterday for a fiver. There were loads more in the 8-10 quid range.

Unless of course you`re looking for the latest releases...

You can see new films like AI in the theatre. You only have to wait around 6 months or less before it is released on DVD. And when it is released you can bet it will be a far superior product than any shoddy bootleg from a Car boot sale on a Sunday morning.

I got heartbreakers and a knights tale about a month after being on cinema here on region 1 dvd. Down the market i see people selling blatant silver versions these dvds. When i ask them how much and they reply £10, i cant help but laugh my head off. I payed about £12 each for my original region 1 dvds. with great extras, a great picture and a quality soundtrack.

A friend of mine bought Shrek silver - talk about crap quality. It was obvious that someone had used a hidden video camera in a foreign cinema and then transferred it to DVD.

I have ordered my Region 4 from devoted for around £11ish including delivery... my mate paid a £10 for his s*** copy.

I will simply point out two things:

a) The Forum Rules STRICTLY state that you should not post about or discuss such illegal activity - tollickd your post was ridiculous, and I was minded to simply delete it immediately, but changed my mind when I saw a number of anti-piracy replies. BTW congratulations to those people who have written saying how buying bootlegs is pointless.

b) By buying pirate DVD`s, you are probably supporting the drug trade, organised crime, large scale fraud, or at least benefits theives. Please do not encourage such acts.

Let`s face it, getting discs from Oz for £10-13 is not exactly expensive if you can already afford a DVD player. Paying anything for dodgy DVD copies is clearly just a facile waste of money. I mean come on - why are you bothering with DVD in the first place if you`re prepared to accept sh*tty quality ?!?! You might as well go out and buy a VHS tape from a bargain bin for £1. Get some patience for pity`s sake and wait for the official releases.
