I`ve tried vax`s in the past but in my experience nothing beats the one you can hire from dry cleaning stores or hire shops.

They will try and sell you a bottle of their overpriced detergent as well but just tell them you have some left over from last time and just get some from your local supermarket.

All the best

Gerald.

OK, this was my job for 10 years. We were high end though and expencive, But we were the best in the county by far.

All the things you can buy/hire use the Hot Water Extraction method. (I prefere Roto Bonnet Buffing) You will hear this called Steam Cleaning. This is a incorrect use of the term. It is hot water, not steam.

Allways use a proper carpet cleaning solution and use a bit less than they tell you. NEVER be tempted to think "a bit more will be better." It is not

It is better to give two light cleans, allowing the carpet to dry inbetween rather than flooding it.

Be carefull of dye running in to the carpet from the bottom of chair/table legs, plant pots and the like. The bottoms are very rearly sealed. If the dye goes on to the carpet that is it. It WON`T come out. Find something to stop the legs comming in contact with the floor.

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

Mt Mrs is a good little scrubber, but you will have to pay travel expenses and food and tea. Thank god she doesn`t read this forum or I would be a dead man. :o

We have Hoover Jet Wash and that does a fine job, but as 42% said go easy with the cleaning liquid. I added one for the pot first time and made on helluva mess. Now I under measure rather than over.
