Has anyone got their insurance with Liverpool Victoria or More Than? What are they like for claiming from (how co-operative etc)?
Any other recommendations?

We`re with the Halifax for home insurance. Two reasons 1) They were cheaper than MoreThan who we were with before (even though the policy is underwritten by MoreThan!)
and 2) there`s no need to specify amounts for home contents (except for special items).
Basically they cover any amount up to £250,000 (if I remember rightly), so no need to sit and work out whether you`re under-insured for your contents - which most people are (I think).
Never had to make any claims thankfully.

Always found Zurich (formerly Preferred Direct) to be very good for claims, especially relating to DVD. I had three claims in my time with them (around six/seven years) and the only reason I left was because the last claim was a residential burglary, after which my premium shot up to silly levels.
The reason I recommend them for claims though is that they did a like for like replacement when my DVD player and all my multi-region DVDs were stolen. None of that having to use that `preferred supplier` rubbish - they gave me the cash and I bought back what I could.
I`m with Halifax now and I hope I never have to make a claim, mostly because it`s horrible having someone violate your home. They do offer more cover for less money though.

We have our home insurance with Liverpool Victoria. Made a small claim (less than £500) a couple of years ago for water damage. They were excellent, very easy to deal with and sorted out with the minimum of effort from us.
We`re still with them and find their rates quite competitive. Perhaps not the absolute cheapest but the claims experience above counts for a lot.
Hope this helps.
