Having watched this on C4 on Monday got me thinking...

does anyone remember a prog on in the 70`s called Paperlads (or Paperboys)?
It was on in a morning during school hols and was set in Newcastle. Glyn Edwards (Dave from Minder) was in it.

My earliest memory is of the mid 80`s, things like Bagpuss, Dungeons & Dragons and of course The new Shmoo. That not cos I`m young, its just that the ol` memory banks have begun to fade a little. :)

I missed the show, who made the top 10?

Number 1 was The Simpsons. Muppet Show Number 2....can`t remember the rest !

Best bit was John Mahoney going on about the incredible powers of the girl who knew exactly what Black Beauty was thinking

Horse goes up to girl, with usual expression
Girl : "What`s that, Black Beauty, there`s a boy trapped down the well"
Horse (thinks) : "Yeah, whatever you like, actually I just want some hay..."

Soiled me underpants with that one, has to be said !

w.r.t the program I was suprised at how many shows were not really kids ones (e.g. Simpsons, Dr Who) and how many classics were missing (e.g.Ivor the Engine). It turns out C4 just published a list of 100 shows and asked people to vote on the order of them :-(

DISMAL CHILDREN`s soap about paper rounds. GLYNN "MINDER" EDWARDS ran the newsagents. Brit art-rockers RENAISSANCE released the theme, "Back Home Once Again", as a single. It didn`t chart. We all forgot about it.

TV CREAM immortality rating -
...KIND OF LIKE THOSE TUDOR CRISP ADVERTS, WE`D GUESS...

I used to watch it and thought it was rather good.

And no Wacky Racers in the top 100 ....surely some mistake????

I was surprise it was not brought back when the film came out

Does anyone else remember it?

I don`t remember the specific episode but I was most dischuffed that they didn`t show the girl, the dog and the mouse going up to the apartment in the lift.

Can anyone else remember (TV trivia question) how they used to get the lift to go up or down ?

Wasn`t it the old mouse on the dogs nose pressing the elevator buttons trick?

BTW I thought the show was Mary, MUNGO and midge and not the title detailed earlier :-) [Which sounds more like a post care in the community version :-)) ]
