Anyone had a " one bell" on your mobile from a 0702 number??

Stu UK (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 15th December 2005, 16:33

Last week or so have had several calls were the caller has rang for one ring and then stopped.

I checked the callers number and phoned Colt telecomms who host the number, I complained to them that I thought thier user was trying to scam me into returning the call as I would be charged at K rate which can be very exspensive depending on your telecom provider.

Please report these scammers if you get one.

I had one last week just as I was leaving work. Can`t remember the exact number but it began with 070. I knew it was one of those dodgy numbers so just wiped my missed calls. Probably the same company. Had none since but will keep an eye out.

My wife had one on her mobile last month...she asked me to call the number which I did (I thought it was a mobile)...after a few "Your call is trying to be connected" messages I sussed it was probably on a loop and hung up. When I hung up the PAYG "credit left" message showed I`d just spent about £1.60 odd!!

If you get a call tell your mobile operater and they can raise a complaint with the scammers telecoms provider. Its worth it just to p*** off the scammers :D
