I don`t have that system but do have a similar one (sony davs300) and on that you need to use composite cables to link it to the video in bit (these cables weren`t supplied with my player, so i haven`t bothered) in the same way you link a vcr. It wouldn`t come through in 5.1 anyway, only pro-logic.

Hope any of this helps.

Hi Trea and welcome to the DVD Reviewer Forums.

There are six Forums here at Reviewer, which should suit all your queries. In your particular instance you are asking about the situation with your soon to be ex-Pioneer jobby.

Ideally, this question belongs in the Hardware Forum, so please humour me whilst I ask you to copy and paste your elaborate posting into the aforementioned Forum.

The Hardware Forum is full of people (Westy ??) who should be able to bale you out. Hope you find an answer.

Meanwhile, back on the General Forum we`ll while away the time laffing at Archer (ha!!!)

(Clayts,i know this is closed, but im gonna be cheeky and chuck in this entry as its not been moved yet!)

Trea,i take it you want to hear the tv sound thru the system yes?
Right. As far as i understand, the dv55 has two audio line ins and thats it. Its simple, take a pair of phono leads and connect one end to the `audio out` jacks on the rear of the tv.attach the other end to the line ins on the pioneer. Then all you need to do is select the appropriate function on the pioneer.
The only downside to the dv55 is that most of the operation is done from the handset,as pioneer have gone all minimalist for some reason(have you seen the amount of buttons on the Pioneer dv636 fascia-Houston,we have a problem),and opted to put the most useless buttons on the fascia,`open/close` is about as sophisticated as it gets!
So dont be too frustrated mate, ive had experience with this model and my theory sounds right.if you`d rather keep this away from the forum then my email is 1siweL.ffeJ[at]moc.dlrowltn (its my housemates machine).
Whatever you do,DONT throw it out the window,remember-pavements cost money!

All the best mister(or missus!)

HI Trea,

I`ve the HTZ 55DV (same thing but for the USA - mine is also multi region).

Did I get it right? You can`t set the remote to control your TV set AND want to watch your TV via the System, is it?
You want the TV sound on the system AND the image also?

Please be a little more clear and I may be helpful. the control seems ilogic until you get used to it. I agree it takes time.

After all this time on the business, Pioneer hasn`t learned to make manuals and remotes.

Anyway, this is an amazing equipment. Don`t throw it out of the window. Send it to me...

Send notices.

Regards,

José Azevedo
