Hi all,

Does anybody know if you can get Freeview TV in France? Or if a UK Freeview box will work?

Thanks

Chris

I stand to be correct but I`m sure France doesn`t,yet, transmit digital signals from terrestrial transmitters.
Once they do ( or if I`m wrong and they already are ) then there`s no reason why your box won`t work.
You`ll still need a French TV licence though.

Firstly, if by your question you mean can a UK DTV set top box pick up British Freeview channels when used in France? then the answer is no - unless you happen to be close enough on the coast to a UK transmitter (near the channel islands perhaps?)

Secondly however, if you mean will it work to pick up French DTV broadcasts, then I don`t think it will either. The French do not use the PAL broadcast system we use here and in the rest of europe - they use SECAM.
It may however pick up DTV broadcasts from the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain or Germany - depending where you are.
