Page 1 of DVD online rentals??

Im getting really really fed up with the shoddy customer service and slow delivery by Blockbusters DVD online rental service. >:( Are there any other but better online services out there??

amazon uk. £9.99 a month for 6 movies a month . No return times. 3 movies at a time, send them back another 3 are sent out. you compile a list of wants and they send them out in order.

JamesL, I was interested to read your apparently satisfied account of Amazon because I am about to leave LOVEFiLM, whose service has suddenly deteriorated dramatically, and I was thinking that Amazon might be a good alternative.

Are they good at sending you the popular new releases, or do you have to wait ages?

Do you have to change your three DVDs all at the same time or can you stagger them so you are never without any?

Any other comments about Amazon from you and other contributors would be received with interest.

I`ve just started with Amazon and been reasonably impressed so far. Had four discs, all from my top 6, including new releases Hotel Rwanda and The Life Aquatic.

With the other companies introducing limited services and the 10% discount off DVD`s, Amazon are now much more competitive. I usually expect these companies to provide rentals at about £1 per disc, but I`d rather spend another 50p or so and get my priority titles.

Plus I`ve already saved £3.40 on the Comic Strip, £2 on another order of 4 DVD`s and I`ve got pending savings of £3.50 on 24 series 4 and £3 on Simpsons S6. As all these discs were cheapest at Amazon anyway, I`ve already saved enough to pay for the first month`s subscription.

You can stagger the discs and one unadvertised feature is that you can buy additional rentals at £1.99 a time, although I doubt I`ll be doing that!

Only real problem so far is that my account for some reason told me that I had no further rentals after renting just three, but they did sort this out quickly after I made them aware of it.

Im with cd wow rentals, they r run by another company (cant remember which) but this week i got 9 dvd`s.....3 mon 3 wed and 3 sent out today, all for £15.99 a month

CDWOW are run by Lovefilm; I was with them after my free trial with Blockbuster ran out; I then swiched to ScreenSelect and then back to Blockbuster. Lovefilm were the worst of the 3 with awful turnaround times and limited stock, ScreenSelect started off well but then became very slow in the second month. Blockbuster are the quickest of the lot in my experience although I have not always had my top titles sent out.

Your telling me! I cant remember the last time I`ve had any film from my top 20 sent to me!! >:(

I use Tesco (who are run by Videoisland who are run by screenselect) and they`re ok. Sometimes its quick turn around sometimes its not.

We have the 2 discs at a time for 11.50ish and are rarely without a rental disc in the house. The added bonus of Tesco is you get clubcard points every month - ok its not worth much but better than nothing.
