Page 1 of Oh No...

I got home today, and one of my pet rats (Roger) has died! :o :( :( :( :( He was laying down and I thought he was asleep, but his eyes was open and his front paws were all scrunched up so i got him out for a cuddle and he was all stiff, but still warm. Poor little thing. The other one (Rodney) is all lonely and keeps going to Rogers favourite places to sleep in the cage looking for him, so I`m gonna have to buy him a new friend (which I`m gonna call Roland).

Fortunatly the cage is huge and can be split into two separate large cages so I will be able to keep them apart til I know Rodney isn`t gonna eat the new one.

I`m very upset, but Roger has had a proper funeral in mum`s garden, with a proper memorial stone.

:(:( Sorry to hear that fluff_n_stuff, you have my total sympathy.

We lost our Daisy rat yesterday (pneumonia, had her put down) and Tinkerbell had to be put down about three weeks ago cos a benign tumor got too big :( Was awful cos she was still healthy and really active.

So we are down to one (Angelina) too. :(

Angelina is old (same age as Daisy) and a bit past it, so we`re going to leave her be then start fresh with two new girls whenever the time comes.

I would leave it till rodney dies to get another one, but he`s just under a year old so he should have a while left yet and I don`t want him to be lonely. I suppose I was just surprised about Roger coz altho he has been ill, he`s had antibiotics and looked all better, obviously appearances can be decieving.
