The Pope has died

Has just been given the last rites - he has a very high fever and a urine infection so the end must be nigh.

Poor old sod - I felt really sorry for him on Sunday trying to speak to the crowds. It was like an even less funny version of "Weekend at Bernies."

I have just been and prayed for the holy father. No matter what you think of him, he did try and bring the world together. As a church going catholic I agreed with most of his preachings but not all. I was deeply saddened to se him so frustrated on Easter Sunday.

I ask you all to give a wee thought to a great man.

With respect.

Definitely in my thoughts at this time. A good man.

The sacrament does not necessarily mean that the pope is dying. Last rites -- also known as the sacrament of the sick or extreme unction -- are commonly given to people who are seriously ill as well.

Pope John Paul II has died at the age of 84, following a series of worsening health problems including heart failure, the Vatican says.

Watching the news report now and it`s bizarre, there`s no sorrow in the reports, it was so expected there`s no surprise.
