does anyone still buy vcr`s?

i bought a philips matchline vr 706 vcr last year £200 worth all singing all dancing vcr then when the e50 dvd recorder come out i bought one so vcr been in cupboard locked away do you think ill manage to sell it anywere and how much are you looking at to buy a high end vcr now ? thx

Ironic really, but i find myself using the video more now than i`ve done in the last couple of years (for playback to dvd recorder)....I have to laugh though, because the kids refuse to watch anything that`s been taped onto VHS "Awww...i can`t watch that...it`s blurry!" :D

funny you mention your VCR as I have started only recently watching my collection of videos again cause I moved my video into my bedroom to make more room under the TV in the livingroom, you know what its like with a sky box and a dvd home theater system

Yes, bought a recent new machine and plenty of blank VHS tapes.

Because I like taping TV if I am not in, and until the many variations of DVD recording are sorted out and an eventual winning format is found, I will just have to stick with VHS tape recording.

I got caught out with the loser in the Betamax Verses VHS tape formats, so this time I will wait and see.
