What`s your take on Jamie Winter,if you have one?

My lot,Aberdeen, have him up on trial.

Not getting my hopes up as if he can`t get a game for a struggling Leeds side he can`t be up to much ;) (Leeds are dear to my heart through family so only messing!)

What do you think of Blackwell while we`re at it?
Some very inconsistent results but I`m not seeing them play.
Do you think he`s the answer?
I had my doubts when I learned of his appointment but as I say,I`m not seeing the games.
What do you think?

I haven`t seen much of him to be honest, but with the way we (Leeds) are playing i don`t think he can afford to risk bringing even more new people in. Blackwell seems to be sending people out on trial and then putting them in the side afterwards.

As for Blackwell, i personally don`t think he`s that great. Ok, he`s brought some really good players in but they just can`t seem to work togethet for some reason. i think he`ll be out as soon as we get taken over

I haven`t seen him play so can`t comment.

I think Blackwell has done a good job. He has built a squad from nothing and only spent a small amount of money. Sure our results have been inconsistant but they have been very good lately (besides the little hic up on New Years Day). I hope that this new team have finally gelled and we can march up the table.

As for keeping Winter, I know Leeds are famnous for selling their players but unless Aberdeen come out with a silly offer I don`t think you`ll be able to keep him. More than likely Leeds want him to get 1st team experience at Aberdeen before recalling him, playing him for a season or two before selling him when he`s good >:(

Hoping for Leeds to be the Crystal Palace of 2004/5
Also looking forward to playing Birmingham in the cup. I know we`ll probably lose but in The Magic of The FA Cup theres always a chance. Every year a number of Division 1/Championship sides knock out mid-table Premiership opposition, hopefully Leeds can do the same.

Marching on Together!

How daaaare you!...how daaare you!

inconsistent maybe...struggling no...For a team largely thrown together at the start of the season, they are doing pretty well. A major worry of mine is on the discipline side, we are getting far too many yellow and red cards and giving away far too many penalties for my liking. A lot of it can be put down to frustration, but its a major worry for me in a team already fighting to stay afloat to `self destruct` by needless bans and suspensions. Another worry is our inability to `kill off` opposition, in various games this season we have dominated the first half...could have been 2 ,3 maybe 4 goals up by half time but have only managed 1 or 2, come the second half they seem to fade and let the opposition back into the game which is very frustrating. We do keep a lot of possession, but lack that final punch in the last 3rd of the park. Room for improvement there. I like Blackwell, he`s done a good job on very limited finances, the team he has is a good foundation to build on (if we don`t sell more players that is!...) I still don`t think they will go back up this year, even though results are promising at the moment...I think if they do they will struggle in the Premiership and just go back down again, Id hate Leeds to become another yo-yo club..Id much rather we spent a few seasons in the first division ..er sorry the `championship` (I still think its a stupid idea) to regroup and get the club stable before making a serious challenge for promotion with the view of staying up...

Agree about the regrouping. Do what Man City, Charlton, Fulham, Portsmouth and Birmingham have done.

Got this from our email newsletter about the lad.
Somebody needs to introduce him to his manager more often so he gets his name right!

Winter, who has seen his opportunities of first team football restricted at Leeds United, could slot in to the role currently vacated by Severin, and he jumped at the chance to come to Pittodrie. "I`m from Dundee and I know how big a club Aberdeen are, so when I took the call I knew I had to grab the opportunity. I`d been given permission to come back to Dundee to spend time with my family at New Year when I got a call from Leeds assistant boss Sam Ellis on Hogmanay to say Aberdeen wanted me on trial. I didn`t have anything with me and had to borrow a pair of boots from my dad (former St. Johnstone and Forfar Athletic player Gordon). I`ve been at Leeds for four years but the chance to try and win a deal at Aberdeen was too good an opportunity to turn down.

"I was in the squads and on the bench in the Premiership against the likes of Chelsea last season but the current boss Harry Blackwell has been reluctant to throw in too many young players."

So he`s up here on trial with tan leather ankle boots with the laces wrapped round and round and steel studs.
