Has DVD box office got back on it`s feet yet?

Raymond (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 11th April 2001, 19:42

I was going to order from DVDboxoffice but have read a post here saying that they have been a nightmare lately, but have they got their problems sorted out yet?

And what is the limit on an order before I get import tax when getting throught customs?

Don`t know if they are back on their feet yet but I have had two orders recently.

Scream Ultimate Collection £45.40 - No customs at all

Armageddon Criterion Edition £30+ - Again no customs

`Legally` anything over £18 is excise tax-worthy.

However, as you can see, you `can` get away with it - depends whether the Customs guys have been out on the town the night before (yes, it`s as random as that...)

Maybe a better subject matter would be...who`s smuggled the most in (LOL!!)....

I bought 2 dvds worth £20 for both but i didnt get any customs. In answer to your question have they got back on their feet the answer is no. I ordered a dvd a week ago and havent recieved any emails from them. A week before that, i put in a cancel request for a dvd i ordered over a MONTH ago. Still no reply. What game are they playing?

dicanio, why not try checking your order history on the site? That might put your mind at rest. Maybe the reason they haven`t emailed you is that they don`t have the disk in stock, and they have been having some trouble with their automated response software. They`re still a damn sight more reliable than a lot of etailers I can mention.

I haven`t had any problems with DVDBO, but they do take a while to ship.
I preordered the other night, and got the confirm next day as with one I ordered two days before.

On the customs issue:
I emailed and asked as to whether a multiple order would be shipped as one or as single packages. They replied single packages, but with one order number so customs shouldn`t be a problem unless the individual disc is over the £18 and gets stopped.

Saying that though....I haven`t put it to the test.....

im not too worried about order confirmations. Its just that they are taking the p*** with deliveries and orders. does it really take over a month to get a dvd in stock? Titan ae is a popular dvd and shouldnt take more than 3 days to get. yeah i check my order history all the time and none of my two dvds on order have been shipped

How long does it take for it to arrive after it`s been shipped?
