Need a new telephone supplier.. can I have some suggestions please?
My mother and father are looking for new telephone suppliers, but don`t know where to start. I`ve got teenage sisters, who spend a lot of time and the phone, and so they need a service that offers free/cheap evening and weekend calls.
Also, we can`t have any of the cabled services, like NTL, as they don`t cover our areas.
Can anyone suggest a good, cheap, reliable supplier that we can try?
Thanks for any assistance. :D

er,.. BT?
I know I am biased but 5.5p for an hour of call every evening and all weekend for £12.50 a month £11.50 on direct debit, or Free calls every evening and all weekend for £17.50 a month
These don`t include mobiles or 090 or 0870 or 0845.

Could do worse than try Onetel. We pay £3.99 per month to get free off peak calls (not mobiles internet or 0870 or 0845) and the other calls are slightly cheaper than BT. You still have to pay the line rental to BT though. Just got latest phone bill today for £7.46 which is our the cheapest month yet.
OneTel
They also do a refer a friend for existing customers which gives both parties £20 off their next bill. If you`re interested then email me ;)

I have my line with BT (£10.50 per month) and route pretty much all my calls through Call18866. Local and national landline calls are 0.5 pence per minute at all times, calls to mobiles are 10 pence per minute during the week and 2 pence per minute at weekends. All calls are subject to a 1 pence connection charge and are then charged by the second.
If you`re on a BT line you dial 18866 before every call or if you`re with someone like NTL, there is a freephone access number which you dial to route your call through their network. :D
*EDIT* I forgot to mention that international calls are cheap too.

Why not try a combination of One Tel for off peak calls and w/e and 18866.co.uk for peak and mobile calls. Get them to pay BT by dd for £10.50 a month, get the £20 off the first bill with One Tel and you`re laughing.
I use this combination and get a thousand mins a month off mobiles (just over £2pcm) - working from home my bill is almost a tenth from it was.

Slightly off the point but still relevant to any decision, just bought new digital cordless phone and was planning to phone BT (my supplier) to ask them how much dosh to add on caller display but this function is already working - just checked on bt.com and I`m on Option 1 (£10.50/month) and there`s no mention of separate caller display add on. Can I assume this is all part of the service/price ?

I have Tesco and they charge £5 a month and you can make unlimited calls from 6 at night to 8am and all weekend, for a bit more you can get unlimited anytime, I find them very good.
