Hi I have a Logix dvd3000 which plays mp3`s.
Does that mean that I can download Mp3 files on my comp, burn them onto a disc and they will play?

I`m no expert, but just check that your player accepts both CD-R and CD-RW media before burning stuff onto CDs.

Dunno what the best software to use is though. Can anyone else help ?

Yes it does mean that you can download MP3s, or encode your own stuff, and burn them onto a CD. As for the acceptance of CD-R and CD-RW that does not really matter as if you put it on CD-R it is recorded permanently and should play on all MP3 compatible players if your CD writer is working properly. If it does not play CD-RW, rewritable Cds, that is no great loss as you can erase them and use it for another purpose.

As for the best software it is not a complex operation to do and the programs that came with your CD writer, such as easy CD creator, should do the trick.

To record MP3`s to a cd-r, you CANNOT use DirectCD. Also most dvd players do have naming conventions (i.e. no spaces, blah blah), read the book that came with it and it will probably tell you how to name them properly...

To burn CD`s you will probably need Adaptec EZ-Cd Creator or Nero Burning Rom to create the disk properly. It will have to be burned in the format of a data disk.

There is probably shareware out there that you could use but I have no recommendations.

I use a package called `togo` which is easy peasy at making CDs with files or music - not tried mp3 with it though.

To avoid the bother of reading the manual about naming conventions just set the CD writer software to output DOS files names.

just bung all the mp3s on a disc a nd it will probably work.
