where to stay in peterborough?

going down there soon to visit my brother and need some help choosing a good hotel. went down last summer but only for one night so just went into a b&b in the city, which was ok, this time we want a hotel, even if its a few miles outside, thats no problem as we can just drive in. i have looked online for a few and came up with the butterfly hotel, moat house, orton hall, and the marriot hotel.

they all look well quite modern travel inn type of places which is what i expected as we are going to a city, most hotels are like that when you go to a city or big town. but some feedback on them would be great, we need to book it pretty soon, all i have to go on are the pics online so any help would make our decision easier.

cheers.

Instead of a good hotel, why not see if you can get one of the £25 Travel Lodge deals. There are 2 near Peterborough. They may have all gone depending when you are staying, but if not, it will leave you with plenty of money to drink instead!

out of that list the "orton hall" would be my choice, eaten there a few times and my folks stayed there once and liked it

The "stukeley country hotel" in great stukeley nr alcobury is about 15mile south of pboro just off the A1 and is very nice

Hope that helps

cheers for those ideas, i am going to try and get something sorted tonight. i hate having to look for hotels as unless you have stayed there before it can be a bit of a lottery, but i am only going for three days so anything half decent will do.

thanks
