Is it possible to have a USA resident rent a car on your behalf and nominate you as the driver? When booking a minivan on the Alamo website, UK residents are charged £538, whereas for the same van, US residents are charged $435!

no idea, but i would either book through holidayautos.co.uk or wait till you get out there, to get maximum benefit from the weak dollar.
