I have a Pioneer 525 DVD and I am looking at buying a Sherwood 8095 amp. My DVD player says DTS on it, does this mean if I buy the Sherwood amp (which has a DTS decoder built-in) I will be able to listen to DTS movies in surround 5.1 channels, using my Wharfedale Surround kit?

Yes you can. As long as your player has DTS bit-streaming/output and your amp has a DTS decoder built in. When you say wharfedale surround kit do you mean a surround speaker set. If you do,that should be ok with that amp.
