Page 1 of Opening a DVD !

Has anyone ever seen a gadget for taking off the package wrap on a dvd . As most of mine I get can be a real pain . I did see one for opening cd`s while on holiday in florida .

I use a plastic stylus off my handheld, I don`t think they are too dear to buy. Or some other soft pointy thing would do.

LOL...just realised how that sounds....not THAT soft pointy thing. ;) :D

I`ve got some scalpels that I use to cut my veruccas off. Stubborn bastards won`t seem to die, regardless of countless "freezing sessions" the doctor has performed on them.

Anyway, I just use the blades to make an incision in the plastic cover, to reveal the prize!

I use to corner of my thumb nail and slice it open along the edge. Tough bastard seems to cut anything :-)

My local pound shop is selling these for that bargain price of £1 would you believe. Think it`s poundzone or poundland.

When I use my trusty Swiss Army knife, I always seem to cut through the inner bit as well. Which means I have to sellotape the cover sheet back onto the disc cover. Grrrr. >:(

I always grow the nails on my index fingers (not in a girly way, natch) which always come in handy in such occasions

The worst offenders are the American discs. Once you`ve negotiated the plastic packaging you then encounter long stickers on all 3 opening sides which, when took off, seem to leave the clear covering all out of shape! >:(

I also use the corner of my thumbnail, to remove the protective covering (I also use the same technique in breaking into IBM Thinkpads when one needs repairing). ;)
