does anyone else have a problem?

I am not proud of the fact that i own a alba 103 but it does the job for the price i paid.

I am new to the world of dvds and have only started my collection since oct 00 i have about 15 some R2 and some R1, but i have noticed on some, the lips do not go with the sound coming out of the tv.Does anyone else have the same problem with their alba machine? I noticed it on gone in 60 seconds, the special features on t2 ue and on hallowen special features. is their a way to fix it ( with taking it back to the shop and getting my money back for something better)

I was also wondering if a dolby 5.1 decoder would make it stop and if so which one should i get for under £200

if anyone could help i would be most grateful thanks

I also have an alba 103 and like poolie, i think its great. I do however share your concerns about the sound timing. I just put it down to all DVD players and discs having that problem. It would be interesting to know if it was just this model.
I have lots of DVD`s and most of them for most of the film the sounds are in sync with the rest of the film, but i know excactly what you mean and it does get very annoying.

If you`re buying a DD 5.1 amp anyway, you may be able to manipulate the lip-sync issue by delaying the centre speaker a little.

The problem with lip-sync issues is one that has blighted the cheaper end of the market for a while now. If it`s okay with all but a couple of discs you`re doing well, John !

I think lip sync is one of those things that can send you mad.

If you go looking for it I am sure you will start thinking that certain scenes or even actors look OK whereas others look like re-runs of MONKEY. Unless its downright obvious stop thinking about lip sync and you probably wont notice it.

Whilst on the subject though has anyone noticed problems with the beginning of I know what you did last summer. Or does this just prove my first point ?

NB be proud of your Alba. You stand tall against VHS man. OK he can record but I bet he paid more for inferier picture and sound on playback.
