Frankin Mint to sue the Diana fund

Anyne else think that it`s a disgrace that Franklin mint are counter sueing the Princess Diana memorial fund . causing other charities to suffer.

Franklin Mint accused the PDMF of a very nasty PR campaign. Hang on but isn`t the likeness and image of Elvis copyrighted?, Same as Mickey mouse.

The profit of the Diana dolls has never gone to the charity, only the heartless corporate w***ers called Franklin Mint.

How many times has Disney sued a Nursary because they painted Micky Mouse without permision?

Not only that but Marvel was going to make Princess Diana a mutant!!! What is it with these brain dead yanks?

Makes me sick to the stomach, and they have the nerve to slag us off!

er..so this is ALL Americans then? Anyway, the `Diana fund` sued Franklin Mint first (bloody stupid thing to do if you ask me, as they`re a charity) and lost the case due to `absurd` `groundless` and `unreasonable` claims. And FM has promised to donate all money it wins (IF it wins) from this case to charity. And I`m sure there would be NO British `institution` that would cynically market themselves using images of the princess.....*cough*Daily Mail*cough*.

And the Princess Di as a mutant thing is somewhat off as well, basically they were doing a satirical comic book series of superheroes based on people who were famous simply for being famous. Di of course is the classic example of this!

Did you also know that 13 of the 16 trustee`s of the Di Charity voted against suspending payments yet the last 3 still managed to push it thru anyway as they are purely looking after their own skins. The charity has something like £45m in reserve and the lawsuit was what for £25m? Its a case of them making sure they dont have to fork out anything from their own pockets despite bringing it all on themselves.

Not to mention in America (unlike the UK) even if you win you still pay your own court costs.

I`m sure this charity has had a lot of critisism in the past too, but for what I can`t quite recall.

Quite right - as already said, if this charity was well run then it wouldn`t have been stupid enough to sue Franklin Mint (Isn`t that the company thats always trying to sell tasteless rc[at]p on the back of the TVTimes?).
Seems they have brought it on themselves through stupidity and their incapability to handle charity funds correctly.

Simply put, live by the sword, die by the sword. Why should the Diana fund (or any other charity for that matter) be immune from legal action that stems from its own ineptness?
