Good place to start is here

- cheap accomodation to more pricey - went there last year was excellent, too many places to mention.
A word of warning - I knew that Barca is famed for its pickpockets, etc so was careful but two mates have since lost gear.
Regards,
Peter

Many thanks for that Spartacus,
I didnt realise how expensive Spain was!!!!! I FINALLY found a decent looking hotel for £66 Euro a night which is about £43 through Euro Cheapo.com
Even the hostels are expensive IMO!!!!
Any more info??????

You`ve GOT to go and see the main Gaudi buildings - parc Guell (?) is great too. We went about 6 years ago, and just found a hotel when we got there - lucky - £25 a night for a double, right in the old town - and one of them there spoke French, which was handy, as I can`t speak any Spanish. I think things have got a bit pricier now....
Mind you, how much would you pay for an hotel in London?

when your in Barcelona watch out for pick pockets especially in Las Ramblas and Taxi drivers who will charge you way too much.

Look at www.holidaytruths.co.uk - you`ll find some good, impartial advice in the Costa Brava forum.
Montserrat is a must-see place. It`s a Monestary half way up a mountain a short drive or train ride from Barcelona (there`s a train station within walking distance). There`s also Port Aventura (at Salou) an hour or so South - this is the Universal Studios theme park. Looks excellent, but when we stayed on this coast we were a couple of hours North of Barca, so we didn`t make it that far down.
Have a good trip... :)
