Page 1 of Poster Hangers- where to buy
General Forum
I have a few nice film posters i want to hang on my wall - they are too valuable to pin or bluetack but I cannot afford the framing costs (there are no off the shelf clip frames that will fit either). I remember that years ago you could buy poster hangers. I have been unable to find a supplier anywhere - does anyone have any leads.

Hartlepool. OOPPS sorry that`s Monkey Hangers. :-)
Unless you are a competent D.I.Y. bod you may find that it would be cheaper to get them done professionally.
To work out the difference in costs between a professional job and a D.I.Y. job go to B&Q or Homebase and note the costs of framing material (plus some 12-18mm fasteners) I think the wood comes under the category "Mouldings " and the fasteners under "Fixings" ??. Then work out how much glass, 2 - 3 mm, to cover the posters then do the arithmetic.
As the posters are special or valuable this would probably be the best way to go. I realise you may not wish to spend a great deal on the frames but considering the damage that is done by smoke and general day to day living it is the most feasable method of protecting them while still being able to view them.

RE: Poster Hangers- where to buy
Thanks for the advice. I may have to bite the bullet and pay for professional framing - problem is one on the posters is a linen-backed French 47ins x 63ins so that is going to be costly.

RE: Poster Hangers- where to buy
I`ve had a few fly poster sized (150 x 100cm) ones framed, they had to use PVC glass as they`re so big. Absolute bargain at £45 each, they were done at a place near Blackpool. If you look around you might find somewhere that does them reasonably. Well worth it.

I bought one of those frame-less frame types for my Star Wars poster, It is a perspex front also to keep the weight down.
Got it from the range for just under a tenner if memory serves me right, but I think you can get them in Woolies, Dunelm, Makro and Asda.
Looks really nice with a glass (plastic) front
