After disabling the region codes and the Macrovision, I decided to transfer some DVD`s to VHS, lo and behold, the picture was okay, sounded great but I was puzzled to see horizontal lines sort of blurring the screen, only thin ones, but none the less very much there spoiling my perfect viewing pleasure ! Can anybody assist me in removal of said unwanted lineage ???

NTSC or PAL discs? You will probably need to turn on Quasi-Pal in the setup menu if your trying to copy your R1 DVDs to a PAL VHS recorder.
This doesn`t sound like macrovision problems however, since the copy protection is removed on the 709 with a region hack, and the symptoms are far more evident than the horizontal lines your describing.
