A solution to hack the samsung 709.

Hello.

I found a solution to hack my Samsung 709.
This solution functions with a DVD Samsung 709 bought in France without DVD discs.

Here my solution :
1 - Swith on the Samsung 709.
2 - Press the stop and start button on the front on the Samsung simultaneously to perform a cold start.
3 - Select the language.
4 - Press the hack button on your AIWA remote control (mine is RC-T 503)
5 - Close the disc tray.
6 - Change the password to the parental lock (for example 3521).
7 - Enable the parental lock to level one.
8 - Switch off the DVD.
9 - Switch on the DVD.
10 - Disable the parental lock.
11 - The Samsung 709 is zone free.

The key of this solution is the step 2. The cold start allows the hack.

Glad to hear this solved your problem. I will add the cold start to our hack pages in case others are having the same difficulties.

I`ve tried the above "cold start" without success. If I switch the 709 on without a disk (whether I press stop and "start" or not), then all I get is "no disc".

I also tried with a region 2 Matrix in, and the player then told me to check the region for the disk and wouldn`t play it (although all was ok when I opened and closed the player).

The player is a UK-bought one, which has had the eprom updated. Is the cold start option for French players? or non-updated players?

Regards

Its for anyone who has tried the hack without the cold start and experienced problems. I would only recommend it under this situation.

I think you`ve missed my point. I couldn`t get the permanent hack to work, and tried to get the "cold start" to work on my UK-bought player, and the suggested steps to do this didn`t do it...
