Page 1 of No-`chipped` LG 3350 gamble?

I`d like to know how many people have bought a `non-modded` LG 3350 player which actually is multi-regional. I was thinking of doing just that from dabs.com but it seems a big gamble, especially as dabs`s returns policy seems a bit iffy.

Has anyone else been (or is anyone else) in the same situation?

There is a bit of talk on `thedvdforums.com` from Justin from upgradeheaven.co.uk saying that normal lg`s aren`t multiregional at all. I`d like to hear some more independent opinions though!

Mark, I have posted many times that LG have more than one firmware on the go.
It`s a chance you take, but you can tell Justin that my employer (retail store) sell only VIRGIN R2 LG 3350`s, and I`ve successfully sold TEN units recently, and hacked every one before it left the store!

Steve 7228 just received one from dabs and the hack worked fine on it mine was from currys and the hack also works on this both are july 2000 models.

Well I`ve ordered one.... wish me luck. I assume I will receive it next week sometime and I will let everyone know if the hack works or not..

I think the "non hacking" firmwares stopped at the 3200E, but I might be wrong.

I`ve had a 3350 for about a fortnight now (from Bennetts Online) and the hack works fine. In fact it works slightly better than some people think. All this `power down the player and leave it for a few seconds` is nonsense - just do the hack and whack a disc in, it still works.

It didn`t have anything about a free Walking with Dinosaurs disc though. Has this offer finished or can I chase it up somehow?

Smokedkipper, get in touch with LG themselves, the offer is valid for players bought up until 31st dec. which yours is. They should send you a cert. to claim the free dvd, a friend had to do the same and he`s now got his copy.
