RE: Whiskey, Scottish or Irish ?
Scottish
Walkers or Glenmorangie (not sure of the spelling)
RE: Whiskey, Scottish or Irish ?
Only good thing to come from land of the pss poor jocks!
As usual, avoid everything lrish!
RE: Whiskey, Scottish or Irish ?
Scottish whisky all the way.
Try Knockando - very nice. Or maybe Glenlivet Archive. Some of the Glenmorangie "wood finishes" are quite good too.

How about Highland Park or Bowmore, and Bushmills for Irish whisky definitely.
Couple of sites for you..bit poncy at times, but can be informative..

Knockando is excellent. I`m also a Laphroaig fan, but it`s an acquired taste. Glenmorangie - yum. Talisker is also a fave. Macallan gets very well reviewed, but I`m not so keen.

glenlivet the best drink 20 per year
RE: Whiskey, Scottish or Irish ?
I assume we are talking malts here rather than blends. As an Irishman who is fond of drop I strongly recommend:
Scotch: Abelour or Macallan malts
Irish: Bushmills 10 yo malt.
It is unfair to compare Scottish malt whisky to Irish non-malts (i.e. the majority of Irish whiskey (note difference in spelling).

beg your pardon Goober...I didn`t edit that part of my last post. I`ll leave it wrong as a warning to others :-)
Although a non drinker for the last 8 years I would always choose The McCallan single malt if available.
Matured in sherry casks it is the only whisky which delights both the taste buds and the olfactory senses with a bouquet similar to the finest French cognac.
If you like the uisge beatha, literally the water of life, then you owe it to yourself to try imho the finest Scottish whisky in the world.
