just something i found for you peeps see if this works and it comes rrom a guy called rikmartian.
Below is my way of running the film on my alba 103...

please note the following limitations

1. you cannot use or view the menu system for the film

2. Navigation around the disc is limited

3. Special Features are available(i think) you just have to look real hard for them

4. This worked on mine. It may not work on yours

5. I will not be held responsible for any problems you encounter regarding the use of this procedure


Here goes........ (there maybe better ways)


Put patriot disc in player

It should start to load itself

While this is happening keep pressing the stop button until the player goes back to the blue alba screen and machine says stop on the lcd screen

Press the digest button

It should start to work and scan the disc

Wait for at least the 2nd image (film is at number 5) to load fully

Press 2 or 5 on the remote

The silver wedge should then whirrr and clank and the film should start playing. (mine did anyways)

If this works then have fun...

If it doesnt then you must have done something wrong.

This could work with other RCE disks but i havn`t got any so i cant try

BLOODY HELL! WHY DONT YOU JUST SPEND A BIT MORE AND GET A BETTER PLAYER.

This appears to be more fun than watching the film.

Do you have to stand on one leg as well?

I have a copy of R1 RCE disc (Xmas in South Park)

RCE can be defeated on this by:

Insert disc
Wait for warning screen
Press `stop`
Press `play mode`
Wait for a couple of seconds
Press `stop`
Press `play`

DVD will play and root menu can be selected, cannot be advanced through chapters though.

To advance through chapters:

Insert disc
Wait for warning screen
Press `stop`
Press `play mode`
Wait for a couple of seconds
Press `stop`
Press `play`
Press `stop`
Enter `1`
Press `play`

I should have said i don`t own one of these s*** players (do i Mr Ironpipe :-) )
i have an encore and no rude remarks bout it either, you know who i mean
i just thought that i would share the info for the peeps that still do have the player if there are any.

Thanks to the other posters for their Alba/RCE advice.
With the way studios are starting to adopt this horrible piece of coding (Hollow Man f`instance) I reckon I will need to try this out sooner rather than later.
